Description

This extension enables control of various Tekmar thermostat devices within Crestron Home via the RS232 tN4 482 Gateway.  A description of the Tekmar family of thermostats can be found here.

Windows utility that simplifies sideloading of drivers and extensions.

There are 3 families of Tekmar devices this extension handles:

  1. th series (Thermostat) (th527, th528, th529, th530, th532, th537, th538, th540, th541, th542, th543, th544, th545, th546, th552, th553, th554, th557)
  2. sc series (Setpoint Controller) (sc161, sc162) – not implemented
  3. sm series (Snow Melt) (sm654, sm670, sm671) – not implemented

Platform Installer Options

  • Obtain License Key – clicking on the CPLLC.net link will bring up the website where a license key can be acquired.  The key will need to be entered into the field below.
  • Enter License Key – License key obtained above can be placed here

Thermostat Installer Options (th series of Tekmar devices)

  • Starting PIN Code – Enter the initial PIN code.  Leave blank to disable PIN codes.
  • Zone Name – Text that will be displayed on the control screen
  • Show on Home Screen – checked if you want this visible on the Home screen.  Otherwise leave unchecked.
  • Show in Room Screen  – check if you want the tile visible in the Room.
  • Fahrenheit – checked if display in Fahrenheit degrees,  Unchecked if Celsius degrees.
  • Show Relative Humidity – check if relative humidity is to displayed, if not, leave unchecked
  • Show Fan Modes – checked if fan modes are to be displayed, if not, leave unchecked
  • Maximum Temperature – maximum temperature that if the device’s current temperature goes above will trigger an event.  Enter 0 to turn this off.
  • Minimum Temperature – minimum temperature that if the device’s current temperature goes below will trigger an event.  Enter 0 to turn this off.
  • Maximum Demand Minutes – maximum number of minutes that if the device is continuously call for heat or cool that will trigger an event.  Enter 0 to turn off

Thermostat Actions (th series of Tekmar devices)

  • Enabled – enable the extension
  • Disable – disable the extensions (all actions will be ignored)
  • Mode – set thermostat mode (off, cool, heat, auto)
  • Fan Mode – set thermostat fan mode (auto, on)
  • Set Point Fahrenheit – set the setpoint of the current mode in Fahrenheit degrees
  • Set Point Celsius – set the setpoint of the current mode in Celsius degrees

Thermostat Events (th series of Tekmar devices)

  • Enabled – extension has been enabled
  • Disabled – extension has been disabled
  • Mode is Off – thermostat is off
  • Mode is Cool – thermostat is set to Cool
  • Mode is Heat – thermostat is set to heat
  • Mode is Auto – thermostat is set to auto
  • Demand is None – there is no demand for heat or cool
  • Demand is Cooling – thermostat is calling for cooling
  • Demand is Heating – thermostat is calling for heating
  • Temperature is High – thermostat current temperature is greater than installer option Maximum Temperature
  • Temperature is Low – thermostat current temperature is lower than installer option Minimum Temperature
  • Demand is Excessive – thermostat has been continuously calling for heating and/or cooling longer than the installer option maximum demand minutes
