Description
The TriState is a Crestron Home tile with three commands, Open, Stop and Close, and the Opening and Closing transitions between them. It is made for anything that moves between two end positions and can be stopped part way: shades, drapes, screens, gates, pool covers, lifts. The installer names the states and picks their icons. The TriState controls no hardware by itself: sequences connect it to devices, relays or other extensions, and its events tell sequences each time it starts moving, stops, or reaches Open or Closed.

Windows utility that simplifies sideloading of drivers and extensions.
Valid Crestron Home icon names are listed here. All icon names begin with the letters “ic”, for example “icStop” or “icPlay”.
The extension’s own license key, or a CPLLC site license key, is entered in the extension’s Enter License Key option. The License Manager is not required, but it is the convenient place to enter a site license key once for every CPLLC driver.
All license purchases are final and non-refundable. Every CPLLC driver works fully for two hours without a key: test it on your processor before you buy. See the Terms of Use.
Installer Options
- Obtain License Key – Opens CPLLC.net, where license keys and site licenses can be purchased.
- Enter License Key – The TriState license key. Leave blank when the site has a CPLLC site license.
- Show on Home Screen – Shows the tile on the Home screen (default off).
- Show in Room Screen – Shows the tile in its room (default on).
- Starting Pin Code – A numeric PIN that must be entered before the controls are shown. Blank means no PIN (the default). A new Starting Pin Code replaces a PIN changed from the keypad, so a forgotten PIN can be reset here.
- Seconds Pin Active – How long the controls stay unlocked after the last touch (default 10 seconds; 0 also means 10).
- Tile Clickable – Checked (the default): touching the tile opens or closes it, or stops it while it moves. Unchecked: touching the tile opens the control page.
- Only Display Tile – Checked (the default): the tile has no control page. Unchecked: a “…” button on the tile opens the control page.
- Auto Enabled – Adds the Auto Close slider, the − and + buttons and the Open w/Auto Close button to the control page (default off; default time 5). They can be used while the TriState is Closed.
- Auto Time in Seconds – The Auto Close time is in seconds (default off: minutes). The number is kept when the unit changes, so 6 seconds becomes 6 minutes; sequences built with the other unit must be rebuilt.
- Maximum Auto Time – The longest Auto Close time allowed, in minutes, or in seconds with Auto Time in Seconds (default 600). Used only when Auto Enabled is checked.
- Only Display Feedback – The state changes only when a Feedback action reports it (default off). When off, the state follows the last button pressed or action run.
- Seconds between Fully Closed/Opened – How long Opening is shown before the tile shows Opened (default 5 seconds; 0: Opened at once).
- Seconds between Fully Opened/Closed – How long Closing is shown before the tile shows Closed (default 5 seconds; 0: Closed at once).
- Enable Stop Button – Shows the Stop button and offers the Stop action (default off). Stop works only while the TriState is moving, so it needs a transition time above 0.
- Control Page Title – The title at the top of the control page (default TriState).
- TriState Close Icon / Text / Feedback / Transition to Open – The icon, button text and status text for Close, and the text shown while it moves from Closed to Opened (defaults icShadesClosed, Close, Closed, Opening).
- TriState Open Icon / Text / Feedback / Transition to Close – The icon, button text and status text for Open, and the text shown while it moves from Opened to Closed (defaults icShadesOpen, Open, Opened, Closing). The Open transition text is also the Auto Close countdown (“Closing in 00:05:00”).
Actions
- TriState Open / TriState Close – Starts opening or closing, as the Open or Close button does.
- TriState Stop – Stops a move part way, as the Stop button does. Offered when Enable Stop Button is on.
- TriState Toggle – Opens when closed, closes when open.
- TriState Open w/Auto Close – Opens, then closes again after the number of minutes given (Minutes, in the action’s settings). Offered when Auto Time in Seconds is off; it works whether Auto Enabled is on or off.
- TriState Open w/Auto Close (Seconds) – Opens, then closes again after the number of seconds given (1 to Maximum Auto Time). Offered when Auto Time in Seconds is on.
- TriState Feedback Open / Feedback Close – Reports the device’s state: the TriState shows Opened or Closed at once, with no transition, and reports the Opened or Closed event. With Only Display Feedback on, these are the only way the state changes; with Auto Close, the timer starts when the Open feedback arrives.
- Extension Enable / Extension Disable – Enables or disables the TriState. A disabled TriState shows Disabled and ignores the tile and buttons.
Events
- TriState is Opening / TriState is Closing – A move started.
- TriState is Opened / TriState is Closed – A move finished, or a Feedback action reported the state. With Only Display Feedback on, only a Feedback action raises them.
- TriState is Stopped – Stop was pressed, the tile was touched while moving, or the Stop action ran.
- Extension Enabled / Extension Disabled – The TriState was enabled or disabled.
- Pin Locked / Pin UnLocked – The PIN keypad locked again, or the right PIN was entered.
