Description
The CPLLC U by Moen Platform brings U by Moen digital shower controllers into Crestron Home. It signs in to the customer’s Moen account and finds every shower on it, so no serial number has to be entered, and each shower becomes a Crestron Home device of its own. A shower’s page shows whether it is off, coming up to temperature or ready, starts the water at its target temperature or from one of the presets saved in the shower, changes the target temperature and turns the water off. U by Moen showers have no local control: everything goes through the Moen cloud, as the U by Moen app does.

The platform’s own license key, or a CPLLC site license key, is entered in the platform’s Enter License Key option. The License Manager is not required, but it is the convenient place to enter a site license key once for every CPLLC driver.

Buyer beware: Moen does not publish an API for this product. This platform uses the unpublished protocol Moen’s own app uses, which Moen can change or turn off at a moment’s notice, without warning. If that happens the platform may stop working until it can be updated, and it may not be possible to update it.
Platform Installer Options
- Obtain License Key – Opens CPLLC.net, where license keys and site licenses can be purchased.
- Enter License Key – The U by Moen Platform license key. Leave blank when the site has a CPLLC site license.
- Moen Email – The email address of the Moen account the U by Moen app signs in with.
- Moen Password – The password of that Moen account.
- Temperature Scale – The scale every shower’s page shows its temperatures in: As Reported (the default) shows Moen’s own, Fahrenheit; Celsius shows whole degrees Celsius, and a target set in Celsius reaches the shower in Fahrenheit. A change shows once the platform is reloaded.
Showers
Each shower is a Crestron Home device named as it is in the U by Moen app. Its tile shows Off, Adjusting, Almost Ready, Ready or Paused (with the water temperature while it runs); touching it opens the shower’s page: a dial with the water temperature against the target, its status, Start and Off, the target temperature, and a button for each preset saved in the shower.
Showers Installer Options
- Show on Home Screen – Shows the shower’s tile on the Home screen (default off).
- Show in Room Screen – Shows the shower’s tile in its room (default on).
- Starting Pin Code – A numeric PIN that must be entered before the page’s controls work. Blank means no PIN (the default).
- Seconds Pin Active – How long the page stays unlocked after the last touch (default 10 seconds).
Showers Actions
- Start Press – Starts the water with the shower’s own settings at its target temperature.
- Off Press – Turns the water off.
- Preset 1 Press … Preset 10 Press – Starts the water with that preset, numbered in the order the shower lists them. A preset the shower doesn’t have does nothing.
- Target Temperature – Sets the target temperature, from 60 °F to the shower’s maximum.
- Extension Enable / Extension Disable – Enables or disables the shower. A disabled shower shows Disabled and ignores its tile and page.
Showers Events
- Shower is Off / Shower is Adjusting / Shower is Almost Ready / Shower is Ready / Shower is Paused – The shower reported that mode, once as it enters it, while Crestron Home is connected to it.
- Start Pressed / Off Pressed / Preset 1 Pressed … Preset 10 Pressed – The button was pressed on the page or by a sequence.
- Extension Enabled / Extension Disabled – The shower was enabled or disabled.
- Pin Locked / Pin UnLocked – The PIN keypad locked again, or the right PIN was entered.
Sequences
Every shower’s actions and events are listed under Showers. The mode events come only while Crestron Home is connected to the shower, that is after a command from Crestron Home: a shower started at its own panel or in the U by Moen app raises them only once Crestron Home next connects to it.
